AdobeCollabSync.exe crashes all the time

Hi

We are using Adobe Pro DC V 19.010.20098 on a RDS server 2016. We have 5 licences each activated by each RDS user

We also have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC V 19.010.20098 installed on that server

All the end users get the following pop up error message regularly:

AdobeCoIIabSync.exe - Application Error

====================================================

The instruction at 0x0000000000000000 referenced memory at

0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be written.

Click on OK to terminate the program

Click on CANCEL to debug the program

If I press Cancel I get this error message:

Visual Studio Just-ln-Time Debugger

====================================================

An unhandled win32 exception occurred in AdobeCollabSync.exe

[8996]. Just-ln-Time debugging this exception failed with the following

error: No installed debugger has Just-ln-Time debugging enabled, In

Visual Studio, Just-ln-Time debugging can be enabled from

Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-ln-Tirne.

Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors' for

more information.

How can this be fixed permanently?

Peter

Hi Peterb,

As you have mentioned above, all the RDS user receives the error message.

Would you please help us with the following information?

- Do all the users have the Admin access to the server?

- If not, did you try launching the application with the administrator rights?

- Do you receive the error while launching the application?

- When did you start receiving the error message? Did you recently update the application?

- Does the server connected to the Internet?

- Have you tried disabling the Protected view?

We will be waiting for your response.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenashi

  • No users (except the Administrator) have access to the RDS with admin rights
  • The Administrator account itself gets the error
  • The error pops up randomly without needing to start an application
  • Investigating this app, it seems to be used by Adobe products so that users can share PDF documents with others. So it is a background app ... BTW we DO NOT need this feature. So it can be safely disabled ... If I knew how.
  • Have received this pop up for weeks. It is not clear if anything in particular happened before it started to pop up
  • The server is connected to the internet
  • Disabling Protect View: in which app?  Adobe Acrobat DC? Would that make a difference if this pop up shows up even when it is not in use

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank for sharing the information.

Please try once the steps provided below once you get time and there are no active users on the server.

- Open this location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat' on your machine.

- Select "AdobeCollabSync.exe" and right click on it. Select run as administrator.

- Then right click on the Adobe Acrobat DC icon and select run as administrator.

- In the application and go to Tools > Shared for review.

- Open any sample PDF for the testing purpose and start a review.

- Then go to the View menu in the application and select Tracker.

Check if the tracker launches without any issue.

There may be a possibility that the AdobeCollabsync is not working properly.

If you get a chance and have the bandwidth, try once to restart the server.

Also, try once to repair the Acrobat application.

If that does not help, then I would suggest contacting the support team, as they may need to logs for the issue.

It would be easier for them to take a remote session.

You may contact the support team via this link Contact Customer Care

Once you open the link, sign in with the Adobe ID and select the product from the list.

At the bottom of the screen, you will find the option to initiate a chat or contact via phone.

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
