Am I creating a 300 dpi or 2400 dpi PDF file?

When I create PDF files they are very large.  I publish books but the DPI on all pages is 300.

However, when I look at this dialog box it says 2400 dpi. The print to PDF dialog box shows 300.

At what resolution am I making this as?

The file properties do not say.

Confusingly, this is not giving the resolution of the file, not a maximum or minimum. It serves a special purpose because some PostScript files use the "resolution" value to generate patterns or gradients. Ignore it.

Only images have resolution, and you can reduce (not increase) resolution using the Images selection in the left hand menu shown.

Thank you, @Test Screen Name

That is basically what I was trying to say but not as clearly.

The dots per inch is for printers.

Your images are at 300 pixels per inch. Usually this is for color and grayscale images, not monochrome/bitmap images. Monochrome are usually 1200-1500 ppi.

I select the files in a folder that I want to print to PDF and I right click on "print to PDF."
