I am trying to link to a specific point in a PDF from an email.

I've referenced the following:

I've created the destination but can't seem to get a link to work, link format:

After I was unable to get the link to work from email to PDF I tried PDF to PDF and that works but not email to PDF.

That's because those browsers use an internal PDF viewer, unrelated to Adobe, and it doesn't support the Open Parameters feature (which is not actually a part of the PDF ISO, so they are really not obliged to implement it).

Update:

I was finally able to get http://www.example.com/emails/Test/test2.pdf#nameddest=Test to work! However it will not work in Chrome, works in IE and FF.

It will not work in:

  • Chrome
  • Safari
