How can you turn off these annoying pop-ups in Acrobat. Why did Adobe think this was a good idea? They are so distracting when I am working.

They're called "In Product Messaging" with an internal process name of "upsell" alerts. If you're the administrator for your organization, you can disable them by looking for and enabling the bAcroSuppressUpsell flag. More info on locking down such features here: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/FeatureLockDown.html

Sadly, I just tried this. Restarted Acrobat - and it persists...

That would be a great fix if my Adobe Acrobat Pro didn't reset to default preferences EVERY SINGLE TIME I CLOSE AND REOPEN THE PROGRAM!!

Running Mac Sonoma 14.5 and unchecking "Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat" doesn't seem to stop the pop ups for me either. It's a simple click to get rid of it, but the pop up interupts my work flow every few minutes and makes me really wish I didn't have to use Adobe software.

Wanted to note here - on Mac Sonoma 14.6 this still doesn't work, in acrobat, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, indesign... i have the tooltip option turned off everywhere, and any other option for messages that i could find turned off, and STILL i am interrupted every few minutes with a popup. It is INFURIATING.

Hi, Wayne. You turned off Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat in Preferences > General and you're still getting messages in Sonoma? What version (Apple menu > About This Mac)
Can you post a screenshot of one of the messages you receive in Acrobat?

I get pop-ups like this every other day, while the messages in the settings are all turned off...

Those are different than the original poster's advertisement-like popups. The blue ones like that are enhanced tooltips, helping you learn the function of tools. If you click the X, it should flag that popup not to show again.

It should, but as I said, it reappears again and again... I have closed those tips really often and they show up again nevertheless...

This is happening because it is resetting your preferences to default every time you close the program and re-open it. It's as if you just installed it and are using it for the first time, every time. It has been driving me nuts that all my preferences keep getting put back to default after every use!!

NOTHING would make me happier than to learn how to turn these off. Does anyone know?
Adobe, if you are listening, you know what would be a great new feature? The ability to turn off ALL in app notifications and suggestions.

I couldn't agree more! I use Adobe Creative a lot, and the popups occur every 30-60 seconds. When I am working on a document for an hour, that very annoying! This makes a horrible user experience.
This is so disruptive, that I am looking for an alternative program to use.
It happens when I am in Edit > adding Text.
I can't find an option to turn them off. I have the Preferences > General > Messages from/to Adobe > unchecked, but this toggle doesn't affect this particular message.

Adobe Actually stop.
You need to create a setting that says, either "I am an experienced used who does not wish to know about new features" or "I would like to know about new features" Having pop ups show up CONSTANTLY while working is a pain. You are actively hindering people doing their jobs. This is actually terrible strategy if you think that this is what your community and users are looking for. You have a panel every year with new features. Why do I need to be bombarded with pop-ups while trying to do my job. Imagine a builder having a hammer stopping him every time he tries to swing it to hammer a nail into a wall.

PLEASE PLEASE help us find a way to turn off the very annoying popups tool tips! The suggested "Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat" was already unchecked.

Same for me. That box is unchecked and I still get the stupid pop-up when I open a new PDF.
I don't want Adobe's unhelpful spam pop-ups. PLEASE HELP TO TURN THEM OFF.

I open Acrobat Pro to actually get work done. I instantly get interrupted by some annoying pop up - which I always cancel. It happens almost every time
I find it very very irritating from a user persepctive. Perhaps you should rethink this as it doesn't serve the customer well at all.

Would also like to figure out how to turn off ALL these popup ads, tooltips, tutorials, whatever... I'm working here, stop interrupting me Adobe!!!!!
For context, in photoshop (which i use the most), i keep getting the tooltips for how to use the libraries... which is really annoying because the "next" buttons are hidden by the layers panel, and no way to get rid of it without going through each slide, then when i open the library i want, i have a whole new set of tooltips to go through. I've done this every day since install weeks ago, Adobe, please make it stop!!!!

Adding my voice to asking Adobe to please, please give us a way to turn off these annoying and distracting pop-ups while working. It is even worse now with the constant prompts to use their AI features. I realize that Adobe wants to let people know about new features, but we get the message after the first few dozen reminders.

Based on reading this feed, I'm now actively looking for an alternative. I'm paying for a premium product and basically getting ads about features I already know how to use... seriously.
