Audio objects (or vid) built inside WORD 2007 then go online to create PDF & downloaded to desktop

I used the FREE online ADOBE  to convert  a WORD document to pdf and then downloaded it.

I DO NOT WANT TO USE WORD TO CREATE THE PDF - - DO NOT IGNORE THAT STIPULATION

Then I opened the pdf with a free Acrobat Reader (which friends probably use, free ) and the icon for my audio file (or video) did not do anything.

Why?

If I bought a desktop ADOBE, is there a difference in functionality?  Is the online ADOBE not good for this?

How do I create in Word and then convert to pdf using ACROBAT, and have the objects functional by any one I send them to, whether they open that pdf on their desktop with free ACROBAT or if they open it online or through a paid account?

Buy and install Adobe Acrobat. In Adobe Acrobat add the audio or video files.

Assume I created a WORD document that includes 50 icon objects, when you click them a video or audio file pops open

Assume I buy standard Adobe Acrobat

Assume I open the WORD doc inside ACROBAT

Assume I create a pdf of the document.

What EXACT STEPS do I take to make sure anybody I give the pdf to can click the objects and see the

video or listen to the audio, whether they have a free reader, use online adobe, use some non adobe reader, they don't understand adobe like I don't understand adobe, and they just open the pdf, like a92 year old dinosaur would?

someone said ADD the audio files - - -- that means nothing to me.  be specific

Example, is there a menu inside ACROBAT that has me check off the mp3 mp4 video audio files that get packaged inside the pdf? Or do I have to click on all 50 objects again, and somehow link the objects to their audio and video files all over again?

After your answer, can you direct me to a video (maybe YouTube) that shows how I would add the audio file inside Adobe Acrobat

you guys assume so much that we out here undestand exactly what you are talking about. Like, be more specific.

There's no way to do it so that it works in all PDF viewers out there, since many of them don't support the full PDF specs, unfortunately. Your best bet is to set the links to open a web-page where you've placed those clips (for example, on YouTube). That should work in most viewers.

You are the only person who answered with some intelligible information. Thanks.

1) Could I inform the recipient what version or package of Adobe is needed, like version x.x or higher?

I am totally unfamiliar with ADOBE other than what Joe Public downloads for free.

2) Is there a different kind of software to use for publishing like WORD with embeddable audio files, but is READ-ONLY?

3) Can WORD be distributed as READ-ONLY as a download independent from wifi / internet.

4) Does Kindle allow embedded audio? NOOK? etc?

5) I read someone elses post that said his users find icons play one time and fail the next time they open the pdf.

Sounds to me like ADOBE is an unreliable product and a waste of time.  What alternatives have you seen

for distributing a work, and one with audio icons

Bernd,

1) Are you saying I do not have to buy PRO to create pdfs with audio or video executed icon objects?

2) When I create a pdf from regular Acrobat, can anyone open the pdf and see the vid using the free Acrobat reader everybody has? or must they own a purchased copy Adobe Acrobat?

3) can you direct me to a video (maybe YouTube) that shows how I would add the audio file inside Adobe Acrobat

4) I am comfortable creating and editing in WORD. Part of that creation is creating objects inside WORD and testing the audio files or video objects and changing placement inside the document, etc.  So when I upload that final document to a purchased copy of ACROBAT, are you saying I have to select each object again, and somehow link the object to the audio files a second time? Or are you saying I am only packaging the files in the pdf conversion and do not need to go back through the document and select 30 objects and edit those objects or link those objects? Are you saying that the link is ok as is, I am just packaging the audio files when I create the final pdf from within the purchased ADOBE.

Like, you guys assume so much that we out here undestand exactly what you are talking about. Like, be more specific.

1) https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/adding-multimedia-pdfs.html

2) Correctly authored PDF files can be read by Acrobat Reader. You should, however, know, that not everyone uses Acrobat Reader, and that iPhones and iPads and browsers very often prefer their built-in reader.
