Automated Dynamic Watermarks online

Hello

We have a website that sells educational material for organisations to print and resell so that they can run their own courses for their own employees only. The organisations (our customers) buy the course material from our website and they can download it and reuse it as often as they like and run the course as many times as they like. It is a one off purchase.

However, we want to be able to protect the intellectual property of the material they download by adding a unique watermark (that is specific to that organisation) so that it prevents them from reselling to other organisations and restricts them to only using it with their employees.

Is there a way that we can automate a process so that every time an organisation buys a course from our website it can add a unique watermark to all the documents so that it can't be copied or resold outside of their organisation (or if they do, it will be obvious that copyrighted material is being used).

For example:

Organisation ABC Ltd buys our course on (e.g.) "How to build a website". (example only!)

At the point of purchase, the website auto creates a unique watermark for ABC Ltd (or even better, ABC Ltd upload an image they would like to use as their watermark), and this is applied to all the documents within the course they have just purchased prior to download. (This all needs to happen very quickly behind the scenes with some scripting I imagine).

Not sure of this is possible or if Adobe software could do this - any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kindest regards,

Rob

Take a look at FileOpen at www.fileopen.com

They are an Adobe partner.

It's possible, but not with Acrobat or any other Adobe software I'm aware of.

This would require a server-side tool that will stamp the files with the desired text before serving them to the customer, on the fly.

I've developed similar solutions for my clients in the past, so if you're interested in hiring someone to do it for you feel free to contact me privately (try6767 at gmail.com) and we could discuss it further.
