Automatic reordering of pages within one PDF

Hi there! My first post and I've searched everywhere to try and find an answer before coming here so please be gentle 😊 

I have single PDF documents with sometimes hundreds of pages within. They need reorganising into date order. I understand I can drag and drop, but this is extremely time consuming when there are so many pages and dates to remember! Is there a way to add a date 'tag' individual pages and then sort accordingly?

Yes, this can be done using a custom-made script. You would either need to "tag" the pages (using a comment or even a bookmark) with the dates, or (if possible) the script could identify those dates automatically and then order the pages based on that.
