Autosave Acrobat editing to SharePoint?

Hi folks

I've got to do a LOT of editing and tweaking of some PDFs, and I store them in Onedrive (which means on SharePoint) at my university.  I have already had one wasted Saturday when by my own error I said "No" to "Save changes" and lost four hours of work, and then discovered that no autosave, no intermediate results, and no version history was present on SharePoint.

I have since tried to be in the habit of doing a CTRL-S every now and then, and then viewing the SharePoint library, refreshing it, and checking to see that the version history shows the latest update.

This seems... very '90s. Isn't there a way I can set something that says "every X minutes, SAVE the work in progress," which means on my local drive, and then let Office do its thing regarding the SharePoint version history?

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you want to autosave the changes after every X minutes.

Adobe Acrobat has the autosave feature if the settings are enabled. Please go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Documents > Under Save Settings , Automatically save document changes to temporary file after X minute.

The Autosave feature guards against losing your work in case of a power failure by incrementally, and at regular intervals, saving file changes to a specified location. The original file is not modified. Instead, Acrobat creates an autosave file of changes, which includes all the changes you made to the open file since the last automatic save. The amount of new information that the autosave file contains depends on how frequently Acrobat saves the autosave file. If you set the autosave interval to 15 minutes, you could lose the last 14 minutes of your work if a problem occurs. Frequent automatic saving prevents loss of data, and is especially useful if you make extensive changes to a document, such as by adding comments.

You can apply autosave changes to the original files when you restart Acrobat. When you close, save manually, or revert to the last-saved version of a file, the autosave file is deleted.

Amal, thanks, but, you did not address my question. I know from bitter experience that the autosave gets everything thrown away on normal exit from Acrobat. I was commenting / complaining about that not being very helpful if my computer, network, or Acrobat don't crash in the middle of things.

The question remains: is there a way to have Acrobat automatically SAVE changes being made every few minutes, without having to manually do a SAVE or SAVE AS?

Other than the Autosave preference setting as described in the previous response, there is no option available yet to automatically save the changes being made without having to manually save.
