blank Acrobat icon when embedding pdf

I'm getting a blank icon when embedding pdf into word. See below. 

 

Using Acrobat ver. 2022.003.20314 64-bit which was installed via Creative Cloud Desktop

 

Has anyone else run into this. Thanks

Hi Amal

 

Your link pertains more to wndows xp. I have Windows 10,  dont know if I can change Win10 to 16bit color.

Did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same problem with Windows 11, which doesn't support 16-bit color as recommended in the Microsoft link. Searching online hasn't led me to any answers either.
