Can not edit anything

Hi. When opening a PDF I got in a mail (pipe-drawing) I am not able to highlight any text anywhere in the drawing. Hence, I can not do "strike-through" or "underscore" or any other things. I can hovewer add stuff like boxes and new text. When checking the Properties - Fonts, the Fonts tab is empty. (I have another PDF where different fonts are listed in the tab, and I am able to highlight text in that one). So I guess the empty Font-Tab is the reason why I cannot edit the document. The document is not protected in any way. My program is Adobe Acrobat Reader v/2023.001.20174 with editing option. Can choose many other tools also.

Is the problem that the document was created in a way that prevents editing? Even though it is not write protected in any way?

I would check the following:

  1.  from the Properties panel, the application used to create the document
  2. Open the file in illustrator (i understand you might not have it) or simply open it in MS Word to check if the text is really text. It is possible that the text was 'outlined' which means it is a made of lines instead opf text controlled by a font. This would explain why there are no fonts listed and you cannot hightlight it. If it opens in MS Word, you can try to highlight the text (if it is text)

Ty Eric. I tried opening the file in word, but it was too big. I also asked my tec here at work, and he said that it is the way the document is created that is the problem. This drawing is made from an AutoCad drawing, and most probably the text in the AutoCad was "drawn" with a font not recogniced by Adobe Destiller 22.0 whitch was used to make the PDF.
