Question

Can not open some PDF files that I created

It has happened for many times already, at the beginning I really thought I would not happen again, but already happened many times.

The problem is as follow: I am trying to open a pdf file and I am getting this message: "the file can not be  open because is either not a supporter file type or because the file has been damage (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decode)"

How about the file size?

This suggests the files are damaged beyond repair. Try opening a "good" PDF file and you will see they all start

%PDF-...

on the first line.

Check the file size - maybe these files have been emptied.

Yes, all of good files if opened with Notepad start with:

%PDF-...

on the first line.

Hey Nelsonmart,

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

Could you please help us with the exact version of Acrobat you are working currently? Open Acrobat>help>About Acrobat

Where exactly do you have this file located? Since you have mentioned that this error has appeared error earlier as well. We suggest you to please refer to the help article here: Resolve damaged document error when opening PDF files  and try the similar steps suggested for an older version.

Regards,

Akanchha

Please open one problem file in Word or Notepad or similar. You may see all sorts of junk. Please copy and paste the FIRST FIVE LINES into a reply here. This is sometimes enough for us to understand the problem.
