It's not, but if you want to make it more difficult (although not impossible!) to remove it apply a security policy to the file, with both Edit and Open passwords. Make sure to use different ones, of course. You will need to supply the latter to the person opening the file, and keep the former to yourself.

If I am sending something that is an unfinished product, I will add the watermark; so once its paid I will send a copy without the watermark; So I was wondering if I was stabbing myself in the foot by doing it that way; I thought it was more secure.
