Having problems converting word.docx to pdf. Have uninstalled using control panel. Adobe install software claims it is still installed and Uninstall software claims it doesn't and is not in the list. This is shit. I need to get a word docx converted to PDF. How do I get acrobat pro installed repared or anything else that will work?

Should work together, just about. Did you look for a repair function?

Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource file.

Do you want to run in repair mode?

Gathering information...

Acrobat could not open ---.docx because it is either not a supported file type or  because the file has been damaged ... (Not damaged. Opens fine in Microsoft)

Some bloody repair mode. Next suggestion please.

There should be a look up table of file extensions or should Adobe not use the Microsoft look up table???

Major discovery ...

I have found out that the brilliant Microsoft software engineers are more professional than their adobe counterparts.

Let me explain........

I open a MICROSOFT word document and ask it to save it as a PDF document. It obliges by opening up the adobe software for the file required extension and creates a PDF document. I even did this in EXCEL and got the same amazing results.

Open ADOBE acrobat (CS5.5) and it says "What the F$$% is this? I don't recognise a file type with the extension of .docx.

Just shows you doesn't it that MICROSOFT have more talented software engineers.

Open Acrobat Pro and attempt to create a PDF from a word document.

Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files.

How do I get out of this mess?

What's your OS version? What's your Office version?

Acrobat X is outdated and not supported by Adobe any more. It's also not compatible with the current operating systems, like Windows 10.

I have windows 7 (64). I have installed Adobe CS5.5. You may have heard of it. I have had repeated problems with the acrobat version. Can't uninstall /re-install/ remove. Seems to be a very un-stable product. I should be able to TOTALY un-install and re-install but adobe doesn't clear out the registry properly for a complete un-install.

I have to un-install the product yet again and hack adobe out of the registry taking hours.
