What is the dot version of the application installed? To check the version of the application please refer to the link - Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Please try to update the application to the latest version. Go to Help > Check For Updates. To know more about the latest version available please refer to  - DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products

You may also follow the troubleshooting steps provided in the link - Troubleshoot Mac OS 10.x system errors, freezes | Adobe software

restart your computer and retry opening.

if that causes another acrobat crash, reset your preferences -  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1595848?start=0&tstart=0
