Can't save PDF after making changes

Running Windows 10 and Acrobat Pro DC Continuous Release Version 2021.007.20099 in Windows 10.

I am trying to make minor changes to the file and simply hit "save".  I do not need to nor do I wish to change the name.  I just need to make the changes and "save".  When I do this, I get a message that notes "The document could not be saved.  The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open.  Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."  I am the only person with access to this file and I of course have it open as I am editing it.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the above error message when trying to save the PDF file.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network.drive, please download it to your computer first and check if that helps.

Also, you may try disabling preview pane in windows explorer and see if that helps. As described in the MS help page https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-disable-preview-pane-in-file-explorer/aefde465-78d8-4603-b13b-81e497fc963d
