Cannot permanently hide left hand tools pane in Acrobat DC.

Hello,

I am not able to permanently hide the left hand tools pane in Acrobat Reader DC. Preferences does not save my selection. Tools pane used to be on the right hand side and was able to be hidden when documents were opened.

Thanks for any help.

Same problem, tried several solutions but still not able to permanently hide the left hand All Tools pane. No problem when the All Tools pane used to be on the right.

Got the how to steps from another thread - Go back to old user interface

On the New UI of Acrobat, navigate to View>Disable New Acrobat. Once reverted to the old UI then, navigate to 

Acrobat Reader>Edit >Preferences>General> Documents> Check "Remember current state of toolpane">OK then Hide tool pane to keep it close for next time.

Doesn't work. All Tools pane keeps reappearing. Seems to be widespread.

You may click on the X button in the left hand tool pane to close it as shown in the screenshot below:
