CC version versus Desktop version

Yesterday, I was editing a pdf on my desktop. This morning, when I upload that edited file to the CC, the edit icons have changed and I am not sure how the reviewer of my work will see them in the document. For example:

I edited this problem on my desktop 

The AMT base amount ($717,913) is supposed to be struck out and replaced with 

However, the Adobe edit icon in the CC file makes it look as if I am adding text at the end of the number, rather than striking it out and replacing it. When I make a new edit in the (same) CC file, I see an actual strikethrough icon in the text.

Could anyone in this forum help me understand what is happening? Thank you!
