Change Font Color in a fillable PDF created in InDesign

Community Beginner ,
Sep 14, 2021 Sep 14, 2021

Using InDesign, I have created a fillable PDF. I see how to set the font properties in InDesign and they will transferr to the PDF. I cannot set the text color in InDesign and have it transfer to the PDF. Text in the text box translates to black in the PDF.

How do I change the color of the text in the PDF?

If I try to edit, it adds a new text box.

Thanks

Is the text you wish to control the text one would fill in to a text field?  If this is the case, double click on a form field to show its properties, and click on the Appearance tab.  That's where you'll find the controls for font, cooler, etc of that field.

Thanks, Dave

If you are asking me to do this inside the PDF, I cannot.

I have created the PDF from and InDesign file. Once I export from .indd to the pdf and the pdf opens, I cannot edit the text properties. All I can do is type in the text box. This is where I am stuck. I have attached the file if you want to try it yourself.

OK - thanks for supplying the file.  I can, in fact, edit the properties in Acrobat Pro DC, using the Form tools.  Do you have Acrobat Pro installed?  If so, visit tools and find your FORM tools.  Using the arrow tool, you should be able to double click on a form field to edit its properties.

Thanks so much, Dave.

That's what I needed. The UI wasn't that intuitive I had to look under an icon called PREPARE FORM before I got that ribbon of tools.

Thanks again.

Oh - you can apply settings to multiple form fields at the same time by selecting, right-clicking, and choosing properties.  Another less-than-obvious thing is that you can leave that properties dialog box open, and click on field after field to make changes.
