When I click an email address in a PDF, the link opens a Windows Mail application (Windows 10). How do I get it to open a Gmail window? Also, when I click Help, the browser Opera opens it, rather than my default browser Firefox. I don't understand that.

You can set up an email account to use (including Gmail) via Edit - Preferences - Email Accounts.
Acrobat sends the URL to the operating system and it calls the default handler application. Did you set up Firefox as your default browser?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, Firefox is my default browser. I can only conclude that Acrobat has memorized Opera from another time when I was using that browser for a while.
Regarding the email link, "Email Accounts" is not an option under Preferences in my edition of Acrobat 9 Pro. I clicked the "Internet" link and tried to get at it that way, but it just takes me to the Windows 10 default apps area. Microsoft apparently doesn't recognize Gmail, since it's not an option.

Sorry, but your application is quite old and not compatible with your OS. Problems are to be expected.
