Hello

The company I work for bought several Adobe Acrobat Standard DC licenses in August of last year. The names of some of the people using them needs to be changed. How do I go about this?

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for reaching out.

As you have mentioned above, you bought several Adobe Acrobat Standard licenses. Did you purchase the individual license?

Are you trying to change the name on the account or transferring those accounts to new users?

Please share more information. It would be helpful if you can share the Adobe ID (email address) used to purchase the licenses in the private message. You may initiate a private message using the envelope tool provided at the top right corner of this community page.

Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Bear in mind, if these are retail subscriptions, that subscriptions are not transferrable. Not to a new account, not to a different person. They are exclusively the right of the person who first had the subscription, and the company paying has no rights to talk to Adobe about the account, use the password, or get access to the account in any way.  It's a nice gift for a leaving employee. (The assumption is that it's a subscription because "DC" is only the name of the subscription product).

If these are perpetual licenses, there are mechanisms to transfer, which require a signed statement from the original registered person, so far as I know. If they won't or can't sign, it can't be transferred. (The perpetual product has a year in the name eg "Acrobat 2020").

This is why team/enterprise licenses are a better choice for business.

Would you be able to tell me what type of licenses they are?

I do not work for Adobe. This is a public forum. You may now get private messages from people who claim they can help. BEWARE: there are many scammers out there. They will try to get Adobe IDs, passwords, credit card numbers and so forth.

If these are retail licenses, there is nothing to reclaim; they are not your accounts and you have no rights over them. There may, however, be a penalty for cancelling.

Thank you so much for your help.

Yes the licenses were purchased as indiduals, not a group. I know that in order to use a license, you have to login as the person it was assigned to. So I need to know how to change the name on the account. I will have to research the email address of who purchased the licenses, and then post it here.
