Check Box Won't Paste Onto Form

For a couple of years running, I've created a simple form in Excel (3 column with row labels to the left) and created a fillable form in Acrobat 9. This year I moved to Windows 10 and Acrobat DC Pro. When I open the PDF made from the Excel sheet, I can drag and drop a text box, but when I try to drag and drop a Check Box (or anything other than a text box), it won't let me. What's different that's preventing anything other than a text box from being placed on the form?

Acrobat DC is a lot different than 9 with respect to creating form fields. Are you in form editing mode when you're attempting to add the checkbox?

George,

Yes, I am in Form Editing mode. I just discovered that if I double-click

the Check Box, then drag it onto the form without holding a mouse

button, then left click to drop it, it works. Is this normal behavior?

If so, where is that explained? In Acrobat 9, I would single left click

the Check Box, drag it onto the form and release the mouse button.

That aspect works the same for me in both 9 and DC. That is, select a field type and then click (or drag out a rectangle) somewhere on the page to create the field. No double-clicking involved.

There shouldn't be any difference at all. Is the field locked, by any chance?

try67,

I'm attempting to paste the Check Box into a blank area of the Excel

form so there are no fields on the blank to lock. Please explain if I am

misinterpreting your question.

So you're trying to copy fields from a PDF file to an Excel file? I'm surprised it worked at all, as the two formats are very different from each other.
