Until recently, when I used the "fill and sign" tool in Acrobat, I had an option to insert a checkmark right beside the option to enter a signature. Now the checkmark option has disappeared, and despite googling, I cannot figure out how to get it back. I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC version 2020.009.20074 on a Mac.

For some reason, on some documents the checkmark option is available, and some it is not. I have attached screenshots of what I see for different documents.

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the checkbos option is available in some documents and not others when using fill and sign tool

An interactive or fillable form contains fields that you can select or fill in. For such forms, the Fill & Sign tool displays only the Sign option.

A flat form does not have interactive fields. It could be a paper form or PDF that hasn’t been optimized for form filling. The Fill & Sign tool automatically detects the form fields like text fields, comb fields, checkboxes, and radio button. You can also manually add text and other symbols anywhere on the form using the Fill & Sign tool if required.
