Hi folks,
I’m wondering why the WebCapture extension of my Acrobat XI Pro is only in my Firefox, but not in my Chrome browser.
So I tried to install/load WebCapture manually by specifying C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn as the extension directory. But this resulted in the following error message:
I googled for this error message and then entered the following two lines into manifest.json:
"version": "2.0",
"manifest_version": 3,
WebCapture could then be installed – but only with errors:
And these are the error messages:
I have tried different versions of Chrome (49, 92, 120) – the same phenomenon occurs with all versions. Does anyone know what to do with this?
Thanks,
Ransom77

Hi Souvik,
That’s very kind of you. I will gladly wait for an answer, even if it might take a little longer.
Just for information: I use Acrobat with the latest update (11.0.23), the three files of the extension have the date 2017/11/1.

Hi @Ransom77,
Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat's Chrome Web Extension.
You might want to check if the extension has been disabled somehow in the background. You can try the steps mentioned here.
Next, I'd suggest going through the given community thread. This thread discusses a similar topic, and the solution might help.
Let me know if that works.

Hi Souvik,
Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, thank you, I’m fine, I hope you are too.
The first link you refer relates to a different browser extension from Adobe for the Chrome browser. This extension cannot be used to convert web pages, as the extension included with Acrobat XI Pro does.
I already knew the second thread. The solution there was to install the extension manually. I was resp. am already that far. Only: Dragging (or loading) the crx file into the Chrome browser worked for the users there. It doesn’t work for me (as described above).

Hi @Souvik,
Hope you are still doing well.
Are there any news or at least interim findings from the team?
