Clear form function in Adobe Acrobat DC

Is there a way to use the 'Clear form' function on opening the pdf? I'm struggling with required fields & have noticed that the required fields are not highlighted with a red border if the 'clear field' function is used?

Ah, so you want to get rid of it? That's possible too, by embedding a script into the file.

The problem is it will affect all other files the user opens as well, not just yours, so it's good practice to at least inform them about this change, or (better yet) ask for their permission before doing it.

The two things are not really related, and I would advise against clearing the form automatically when it is opened.

The red highlight of the required fields is done by a setting in the application, which you can find under Edit - Preferences - Forms.

Thanks for the answer but I'm trying to get around the problem that I cannot get rid of the red highlight on required fields (have posted a separate question on this to see if there has been any fix for this lately). My clients will be sent or downloading the form, so cant set their reader applications to do this
