Clicking "Request e-signatures" is breaking my PDF.

Question

Hello! This is a new issue I'm having. Our department sends out PDFs to be signed on a regular basis, and for audit purposes, they have to use the "Request e-signature" function. The PDF in question has several text fields that allow for multiple lines of text, as well as several "Show/hide a field" actions.

Well, everything looks good until you press the "Request e-signature" button, and then everything changes. Fields that were hidden are now visible. Text fields that had multiple lines of text are now a single line that runs off the page. Even the text that was typed into the fields is now italicized where a few moments before it wasn't.

At the bottom of the screen, I get an alert stating that "Unsupported fields have been removed from this document."

As I said earlier, this is a new development. We used to be able to request an e-sig without any of these issues.

UPDATE: I've found a work-around. If, after filling in the form, I print to Adobe PDF, the new PDF keeps all the information safe. All I have to do is save it under a new name, click, "Request e-signature", add a couple of new fields for the signatures, and I'm good to go. It's a few extra steps, but I'm willing to do it.
