Color pdf doc color to greyscale?

I have a 31 page pdf developed in Adobe Acrobat in color. I can print the pages in greyscale.

But how do I convert the whole doc into greyscale?

I plan to e-mail the doc to distributors and allow them to re-send to their contacts.

but the file (of the color pdf) is too large (>300M) to do so efficiently, esp with distributors and contacts

who are as non tech-savvy as me.  I, who have a problem using Dropbox links, etc. myself and get's frusted when the downloading process slows to a crawl!    

I am hoping that changing the doc to greyscale would drastically reduce the filesize and thus ameliorate the problem. But how?

Suggestions are most appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi @bob teo 

     

    If you are using Adobe Acrobat Pro, then try these steps to see if helps you saving the entire document in greyscale

    1- Open Acrobat>Open file>Print

    2- Select Adobe PDF as Printer>Select Print in GreyScale >OK

    3- Choose the destination folder and save the file

     

     

    You can also use the feature Optimize PDF to reduce the file size

    I dont have pro yet, unfortunately.

    Is pdf the smallest file I can get for my doc?

    Any other way?

    What Acrobat do you have? The Reader? There is no possibility with Acrobat to create a new optimized PDF file. You need to contact the file creator to provide you with a better fitting file size. The filesize, however, is mostly a tradeoff between size and quality. So it may not be possible to reduce the file size considerably, without a huge hit to the quality of images in the PDF file. Text (as text) does not add much to the file size.

     

    If you want to send the file as is, you will need to use a cloud service, upload the file and send out a link to the recipients.
