Question

Combine partial pages into one page

I'm working on a musical score, which are multiple separate documents that I want to combine into one PDF. Some of the documents end (or begin) as half pages, top or lower half of a page. Is there an EASY way to combine two such pages into one, so that the top of one and the bottom of the other are merged into one page?

Thanks.

Are you comfortable with InDesign? If so, you can place all of the pages into an InDesign file, where you would have good control over the positioning of the partial pages, then export to a new multipage PDF. This is very basic InDesign stuff that you could pick up quickly after watching a few YouTube videos.

Thanks, Luke. I neither have InDesign nor know anything about it, but I appreciate the suggestion.

If you don't mind there's a slight gap between the two pages the easiest way to do it is to "re-fry" the file, ie. print it using the Adobe PDF printer to a new file, using the Multiple option (1 x 2). That will result in each two pages appearing as a single page in the new file.

If you want the pages to be aligned perfectly one on top of another it will require using a custom-made script.

Thanks, TRY67. I don't think this works because it's combining the two full pages, severly reducing the content to the point of illegibility.

Print to a larger page size.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you want to combine two pages into one, so that the top of one and the bottom of the other are merged into one page.

The option to combine the two partial pages into one page is not yet available. However, you may copy and paste the contents of the upper half and lower half of the pages to one page and then combine it with the rest of the PDF pages.

You may also submit your request with the engineering team using the link https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Thanks, Amal. How would I do this? I've tried EDIT PDF, selecting the bottom half of the second page and copying, but there's no paste function when I go to the first page.

Hi there,

You may try to export the PDF to Word formate and then copy/paste (Adjust the pages) and then convert it to PDF using Adobe Acrobat DC.
