Adobe is moving too slow to combine documents.

Trobuleshooting steps taken:

•fully uninstalled Adobe Pro, restarted the PC and fully re-installed it via Creative Cloud. I then launched Adobe Pro by itself and re-disabled the protected security features.

• Deleted following from registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Distiller
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Elements
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe\Creative Cloud
• Ran Creative Cloud Cleaner

• Delete Adobe folder from Program Files. program Files(x86), Common Files
Reinstalled Adobe, problem is still there.

•As a workaround, using https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/merge-pdf.html to merge files.

Can you share more details about the specs of your computer, the version of the operating system and software. How many files are you working with and what sizes are they?

Users are still having the issue, any updates?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well.

What happens when you try to combine the files, do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity.

Is this an issue with a particular set of file or with all the files? Please try with a different set of files and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20687 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Hi there

Thank you for reaching out.  It was a fresh install of Adobe Acrobat Pro yesterday.

I wil try a repair, however, the first few files combined quickly and then steadily slowed down until there was no progress, with no error messages.  I was forced to force-quit the Adobe Acrobat Pro program.  By contrast, PDF24 on my test PC, combined the files in a matter of seconds and gotr the job done for my client.  They had 1136 two page letters in PDF format produced by a database.  I need to combine them into one file for printing to ensure the print spooler doesn't mix up the print order (Account No).  I had a similar problem last year with Adobe Acrobat DC but managed by combining in batches, then combining the six sub-batch files.  I tried the same yesterday, but even when I combined the six sub files in to two files (3+3), the final combine failed/stopped.  Henec I had to try another solution.
