Command Prompt suddenly coming out with acroservicesupdater2_x64.exe

This already happened the second time. I was doing my usual thing on my PC when the command prompt suddenly appeared with the following:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\Execute\3634\AcroServicesUpdater2_x64.exe"

It just stays there, not closing or anything. I had to manually close the window. I am concerned if this is legit from adobe or maybe malware. Please note that I am not techie in checking malware and viruses though.

I would appreciate the response on this. Thanks!

Hello. Thank you for sharing your problem.

Yes, this this legit file from Adobe. AcroServicesUpdater2_x64.exe is the Adobe Acrobat Updater.

It runs every day via Task Scheduler, which is why you see the command prompt pop up with the exact file name.

If you don’t use Adobe Acrobat, you can uninstall it and disable its scheduled tasks to stop this from happening.

It’s safe to remove if you’re not using it.

It is not a virus nor is malicious.
