Comments not appearing in saved PDF

Question

The PDF was commented on using Acrobat and no other modifications were made. The document was saved. When retrieving the saved document, it is listed with the correct date and time, but no comments appear. It does say the document was modified at x date and time, which is correct, but those comments (the modifications) are no where. I have tried all the typical things to get them to show up. I think they are gone.

Since the file is saved with the right date and time, could there be a way to recover the comments?

Sorry for the troubled experience.

How was the document shared with the reviewers? How were the comments added to the file? Was it shared?

Where was the document saved - locally on the machine, Cloud drive or network drive?

If you test the scenario again, is this issue reproducible at your end?
