My apologies.  Hit the enter button too soon.

Last year and now this year again, it will create the file but not attach the JPG files attached.  What gives?

Thank you for your help.

Adobe Acrobat XI  Version 11.0.11

Odd…all my links to Adobe Acrobat say “Adobe Acrobat XI Pro” but when I go into the program and look at “About” it says, “Adobe Acrobat XI  Version 11.0.11”.  I’m certain I didn’t change the names of the programs so they’re as they installed.  In the upper left corner when the program is running it says “Adobe Acrobat Pro”.

In the Programs and Features list in control panel it’s called Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  Besides Adobe Reader XI, there are no other versions of Acrobat installed.

Workflow

Highlight all desired emails within Outlook

On the Adobe PDF tab within Outlook …under “Change Conversion Settings”…I make sure “Include All Attachments in the Adobe PDF” is selected.

Same tab…I select “Selected Messages” and them “Create New PDF…”

It then creates the PDF with multiple PDFs in one document.  Each PDF shows a TXT attachment for each email that includes the signature portion of the email

Note:  The emails I’m trying to convert often only have a title and a signature in them along with a JPG photo attached.  (Photos of receipts for tax purposes).

I’ve done the same thing but instead I used “Selected Folders” and it does the same thing.  I’ve also selected the emails, then gone File and then used “Save as Adobe PDF”.  Same result.

I think that’s all.

Cheers,

Jeremy Buckingham

Hi jeremyb76868789‌,

Open Acrobat, navigate to Help menu, check for the updates & install the updates.

Repair the office application Repair an Office application - Office Support & then try to replicate the issue.

If it still doesn't work try the Workaround:  Drag/Save the message to your desktop and open it there.  Then perform the conversion.

Thank you for the advice.

I just performed all the recommendations you suggested.  Including…installed the Adobe Acrobat updates(now says 11.0.12)…repaired Office.  Specifically Office was repaired as “Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010”.  I have no other versions of Microsoft business like apps except this (example – Excel, Word, etc).  They came as a bundle.

Rebooted after each.

Same results.

A more specific comment:  The TXT file for each PDF is highlighted in blue like a link…however below it is an “invisible” very narrow box I can click on.  When I click on it the edges “move”/animate.  Can’t drag it open or do anything with it.

Other thoughts?

Cheers,

Jeremy

Giving this a bump.

Is this a known issue? A new issue?

Can you provide a status update on how I can resolve the issue?

Use Adobe PDF to wrap all these emails and attachments was so great.  When it stopped working I was stuck with all these emails and attachments and now I have no way to export them cleanly into one file.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I converted a single email within Outlook and received the same result.

I dragged and dropped the same email to the desktop and converted as you suggested…and the output is different.  The PDF contains a TXT and JPG reference next to the words “attachment” in the PDF…however…unlike my other attempts, there is no link to open either the TXT or the JPG file.  When I show the attachments “tab” within Acrobat, it doesn’t show any attachments.

I attempted to convert the individual message dragged to the desktop from WITHIN Acrobat and could not see “.msg” files.  My thought was to ensure it was setup to include attachments. I know ALL my previous attempts to convert from within Outlook have been set to include attachments.  I also tried to find the setting from within Acrobat that would include the attachments….but could not find it.

Other thoughts?

My settings are exactly the same as you’ve shown.  They have been throughout all of the tests I’ve completed…with possible exception of any changes that might have been caused by the Adobe Acrobat update…but either way I’ve had the selection to include all attachments.

Further thoughts?

Has anyone been able to run an experiment on another system under similar conditions?

Cheers,

Jeremy Buckingham

I ran a quick test from WITHIN outlook…converting only one email with a PDF document attached…and it came out fine.  It worked as I would expect.  The PDF file was shown as a clickable attachment in the newly created PDF file of the email.

That said,  99% of the emails I’m trying to convert have JPG photos of receipts attached to them.

Does anyone know if this is a known issue?  Or a new issue?  Or can be replicated on another system?

Cheers,

Jeremy Buckingham

We are experiencing this issue on 11.0.19 on a terminal server.

Troubleshooting so far: Remove and reinstall Acrobat XI, Remove and Reinstall Office Standard 2013. Create new Outlook profiles, create test windows profile. Same result, JPG/JPEG will not attach in email messages converted from Acrobat PDF Maker Outlook add-in unless the message is dragged to the desktop first.

Is this still a known issue, maybe there's a registry key the engineers can suggest we add/change/remove for testing?

We convert a LOT of emails to PDFs for archiving correspondence so the workaround slows our day down quite a bit.

Any progress on working on this known issue?

I'm having this same problem with Adobe Acrobat DC and Outlook 2016. When I create a portfolio from an email folder, all of the attachments convert and are linked in the subject line, except for JPG files.

After years of proper Outlook email (with .jpg attachments) conversion to PDF, the issue with .jpg files not being saved in the PDF just started happening to me. I was on Windows 7 and various versions of Acrobat, and now on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 (two machines to test this issue on) and various current versions of Acrobat (update, uninstall/reinstall, repair, etc).

The move-.msg-to-desktop-one-at-a-time workaround is not a satisfactory workaround for those for us that convert thousands of emails with .jpgs to PDF.

I'm very frustrated that this has been an issue known by Adobe for years. Please, Adobe, fix this issue.

Hello Rickh,

Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused.

Have you tried converting the Outlook email with .jpg attachment to PDF on a different user profile?

What is the dot version of Acrobat installed on your machine? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Have you checked the latest version of Acrobat? Download the latest patch/update of Acrobat from DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products and see if the issue still persists.

If you have tried all the suggestions and troubleshooting mentioned above, and still facing the issue, you can report the issue to the Engineering team through Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Feel free to update this discussion for any further assistance.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Try doing all those things as outlined in the post above EXCEPT uncheck "Block donwnload of external content." I did this and was then able to convert directly from Outlook MS Pro Plus 2013.

How to Save and print Outlook PST to PDF?

Save Outlook PST mails to PDF Manually

1 - Open MS Outlook, select Outlook mails then click on file and then click on print and then select print style section choose between Table or Memo style and print

(Note: with the above method you will be able to save only one message as PDF at the time.)

It's September, 2017, I notice from this discussion thread that this problem does not seem to have a solution.  I have AA Pro DC with MS Outlook, and I tested 10 different attachments attached to one email to see if it could identify and convert them all: Tif, TXT, JPEG2000, JPG, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, BMP, PNG and PDF.  Nine attached files worked, but not JPG.  Is there a solution to this software bug?  Thanks

i recently stumbled across this issue. i wanted to share 2 things that ended up working for me.

1)  workaround: if you've converted to PDF and the picture files are listed in the attachment pane, drag/save those files to your desktop (or whatever folder desired).  the files will open from your desktop (or wherever you saved them). for whatever reason (at least in my case), adobe cannot handle the request to open the picture file. i was so focused on clicking on the embedded file link or opening from the attachment pane, it didn't ever occur to me to try it this way.   in other words, it would be like saving the attachments from your email to your drive, then opening it, as opposed to opening the attachment straight from the email.

2) solution: check your default programs/associations for jpg, jpeg, bmp, png files.  make sure they are set to photos (default windows program) if you're running windows 10, or windows photo viewer if you're running windows 7. this allowed me to open the pictures straight from the converted email PDF.

it's like adobe knows to use word to open .doc files and excel for .xls, but cannot open jpg, jpeg, bmp, png files unless it is the default windows picture program.
