CONVERTING EXCEL INTO PDF AND RETAINING FORMULAS

A apologize if this is an old topic, however I need some help on it.... I am attempting to create a portfolio in Acrobat 9 and one of the files in a fillable excel sheet. when i save it as pdf, it will not let me fill the needed cells... i do not need it to save, just calculate the fillable fields on the form... if i link right to the excel file, it will work, but only by taking the extra step of opening it in the native program. the problem with that is that some of my customers are not computer savvy and will not understand the directions to open in the native program. .... that being said, is there a fix for importing the excel sheet or converting the excel sheet to pdf and retaining the fillable / formula cells so that people can fill it in and have it calculate.... any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks

    There is no way to retain the Excel formulas when converting to PDF. While it would be possible to create a PDF form that duplicates the functionality, it would probably be a lot of work for probably little gain. I would recommend keeping it as an Excel file in the portfolio. How complicated is the spreadsheet?

    The excel form is not complex at all, however the formulas are... If there were a simpler way to tell people how to click the button that opens the program in it's native form, that would be great... otherwise, i guess the spreadsheet will have to be independant of the portfolio, which kind of defeats the purpose
