Converting Word to PDF

Im having an issue converting Word files to PDF.  If i choose Convert to PDF from Acrobat on the Ribbon in Word or choose File\Save as Acrobat PDF once i choose the location and name the file it opens the Acrobat PDF window and not my file as a PDF (like i clicked on the Acrobat Icon on Desktop).  I am able to use a work around, but would like to get this fixed.

Work Around - File, Print, Microsoft Print to PDF

Using Acrobat Pro Version: 2023.003.20244 | 64-bit

 - Tried Repairing Acrobat

 - Ran Check for Updates but already up to date

Hi @tpatton1977,

What version of Office are you using? MS has had some new releases in the past couple of weeks.

... it opens the Acrobat PDF window and not my file as a PDF (like i clicked on the Acrobat Icon on Desktop).

Just to make sure we understand what's happening:

After the file is exported, the Acrobat application opens but not the document itself inside Acrobat, correct?

That is strange and I don't have an explanation why. Hopefully someone else will chime in, maybe even an Adobe engineer as I believe this is at the Acrobat level.

Better methods to export PDFs:

This blog details 3 ways to export a PDF from MS Office. Try all 3 methods: A (Acrobat ribbon), B (Acrobat), and C (Microsoft). You can skip the details about the accessibility settings if you're not doing accessible PDFs.

But the worst way to make a PDF is by printing to anything, whether that's to the Acrobat virual printer or Microsoft's.
