Copying code from PDF removes math characters

Hello:

I'm trying to copy program source code from a PDF.

However, when I paste it into an editor, certain math symbols change.  For example, the <= appears as the number 5.

 

This is on Acrobat Pro.

This is an issue with the font used for these symbols. It's probably badly encoded. There's not much you can do about it, short of re-creating the file using correct encoding.
