CS3 to CS4 upgrade

I just bought a new computer that had CS3 installed and running fine.  I now know I am not able to re-activate CS3 on the new PC.  I am willing to buy CS4, but will I be able to instal CS4 on the new machine? Will I be able to use the CS3 S/N as the qualifying product?

CS4 has not been available for sale for over 10 years.

I finally figured a workaround to this dilemma.  Tried it and it worked perfectly.
