CS6 Acrobat Pro crashes at opening

I have an iMac late 2019, 27", running Mojave 10.14.5. On my mac I have CS6 (disc version). All the programs run smoothly without issue except, I have now discovered, for Acrobat Pro. I have been running CS6 for several months after buying the new Mac recently, but have not used Acrobat. I only attempted to drag the icon from Applications to my dock today and then tried to open a file. The program closes after a few seconds and throws up an error report, which is automatically sent to Apple. I don't understand the report at all. Can anyone suggest a fix?

This is a MacOS issue, you must untick an option somewhere in the System Preferences.

A Mac user may help you futhermore…

I don't know if you have Acrobat X or Acrobat XI with the CS6 but it must be up to date to run on Mojave:

Acrobat X latest version is 10.1.16

Acrobat XI latest version is 11.0.23

You can download updaters here:

Hi, many thanks for your reply. I have done as you suggested, but I went to Adobe's Downloads section, found the links to 2 updates for my version of Acrobat 10.1.1 and proceeded to try and upload them. The first one initially threw up a message that the software was from an unidentified developer and would not install. I tried again and it began the install process but only got as far as the Applications folder where the Acrobat link was greyed out, so would not open. I tried the second update but this then also threw up the message that it was from an unidentified developer and would not install. I am at a loss to now what to do next. any help would be very gratefully received.

The operation guarantee of CS6 is up to OS X 10.9.
Neither CS6 nor Acrobat X is guaranteed to work on macOS 10.14.
Let's introduce Creative Cloud.

Moved from Acrobat Reader to Acrobat community.

I am retired from publishing and have no direct income from it any longer, I can't jusify subscribing to Creative Cloud. Does that mean that my Acrobat is basically defunct? Is there anything I can use as a altenative other than CC?

Currently supported is the Acrobat DC subscription and Acrobat 2017 perpetual license.
However, support for Acrobat 2017 is not permanent either.

If you consider other Adobe applications, you can only use Creative Cloud complete plan if you use it on macOS.
If only use Acrobat, you may use Acrobat DC subscription license.
