Custom Watermark each time a PDF gets opened

I know this is not specific to Adobe Acrobat, but if there is a function/script/instruction for the following, any help and guidance would be much appreciated!

Our clinic uses something that is known as Authorization Documents sent to us by respective employers. Sometimes these documents are about 5+ and oftentimes they end up being mixed. These files are always in PDF. They are sent to us via email, and when we open it...our default PDF Opening is set to Edge as opening in Adobe takes a little bit longer for the front desk.

Is there a tool or functionality that allows custom watermark/custom text [specifically Name or Record Number] every time a PDF file is printed? Is this something I have to set up in the printer's setting or does this need a label maker?

I have no problem investing in a label maker for our clinic, but if this is something that can be done within the system, then I would prefer to resort to that.

In order to do it in the PDF file you would need to embed a script into it.

I think this is something you should look into implementing at the printer level, instead. I'm sure that many office printers have such an option built-in.

Edit: If I need to make Adobe default for this to work, I can do that. Basically, what I want is whenever a user opens a PDF file to be printed, it will open in a user's native default PDF application. Either while opening, or while printing, I kind of what to have a pop-up message that users have to add a custom text each time, so that custom text is being printed on all of the pages that are in that document.

So the flow would be something similar to the following:

Open DocumentX > System detects user's native default application > Document opens in the user's default application > Pop-up message to add a text/watermark text to each of the pages in that document > Custom/Watermark Text applied to each page > Print. Each page will have that custom watermark. This watermark/text will not be saved inside the document. Just for the process of printing.

I hope someone is able to follow what I am trying to get at. I can do this with the printer's setting, but our printer for some reason does not have a custom text watermarking. And it's too much clicking for my front desk when they are not tech-savvy.
