Question

Digital signature creation causes all checkboxes to be filled

I'd really appreciate your help with a question I can't find the answer to after hours of Googling.  🙂

I sell medical fillable forms created with Acrobat Pro (NOT Acrobat Sign).  One of my forms has two sections that require entries and signatures by two different people,  the patient and the healhcare provider.  I set the digital signature signed setting so that when each creates the digital signature, the fields in their part of the form are read-only.

I thought that setting would only restrict the each person from making changes to the other person's part of the form.  Instead, creating their digital signature causes ALL of the checkboxes in BOTH sections to be filled (on all platforms and devices).

Is that the expected behavior?  If so, is there a different setting to restrict changes to the respective sections while still showing their checkbox selections?  Thanks so much for your help!

This is aberant behavior.  But I doubt that Acrobat is doing it by itself.  Are there any other scripts on the form?

No, only the built-in digital signature scripts.  I've had trouble with custom javascript in the past so now I'm very careful to only use the Adobe built-in scripts.

So for you're own aesthetic reasons you want the check mark to completely fill the radio button or checkbox?  You should have started with this.

Because the checkmark is a character (specifically ZapfDingbats), the size of the checkmark is generally the size of the  text. There is however an exception. The Circle size for a radio button is automated, so you can't change it. But the other check options can be re-sized to fill the area.

If you really, really want the circle mark of the radio button to fill the space then you have an option.

Make the outer circle of the radio button a design element in InDesign. Then make the radio button field in Acrobat larger than the circle graphic on the page and remove the border.

@Thom Parker The reason I didn't start with the checkbox appearance is that it isn't my primary concern.  The main issue I'm trying to resolve is why my forms are turning all the checkboxes and radio buttons solid (selected) when the digital signature is created.  I'm still waiting to hear back from @shaktikeshri from Adobe or anyone who can help find the reason so I can fix it ASAP for my customers.

Only the fields you select in the Signed tab of the digital signature field should become read-only after that signature is signed.

Yes, that was my intention.  But does "read-only" mean that ALL of those checkboxes and radio buttons in that section are filled in, not just the ones the person selected on the form?  I've attached screenshots of the two signature fields properties showing the sign settings.

Read-only does not mean filled in.  It means they are no longer interactive.  You selected "All fields EXCEPT these".  Did you mean to do that?

Correction!  It only causes the checkboxes in THEIR section to be filled in.  But that's still not what I need the form to do.
