Digital Signature using Certificates Tool - available in free Adobe version or not?

Hi, I am wondering if I need to have the Pro version of Adobe to have access to the "Certificates" tool?  Or is it available in the free version?  thx!!

For what purpose? Securing a file using a certificate, or viewing it? The former requires Acrobat. The latter can be done using the free Reader.

This would be to be able to put a digital signature on a pdf.  If I send a PDF that needs a signature to someone who just has Reader, will they be able to create and affix a self verified digital signature?  I am thinking based on your reply that they will not?  I have been reading a lot about digital signatures but it is still confusing!

Reader can sign a file using certificates, yes. Maybe my original reply was not very clear.
