Disable "Edit" mode while on "Prepare Form" mode

While on "Prepare Form" mode, I can view all my fields (see screenshot 1), but when mistakenly clicking on a text field, Acrobat switches to another view similar to "Edit" and hides all the fields (see screenshot 2).

It's really troublesome to get back into to previous view (pressing Esc key or switch to Edit then Prepare Form).

Would you know a way to prevent that unwanted switch, as I only need to work on fields? The fields overlap with text, hence why it switches sometimes when clicking around.
