I am receiving documents to sign and getting this error:
This is an Adobe document sent from a company to myself for signing. I am having issues as the above keeps coming up when I sign it. What is the point of this software if I can't use it for its intended purpose? A piece of software that cannot speak to itself?
1. AdobeAcrobat Pro 2024.005 (I downgraded to try as I have the 2025 version too)
2. Window 11
3. Open document, fill in date, drag in signature, try and save and the above message comes up.
4. Expected to be able to save the document I was asked to sign and send it back to the company.
When you try to get help you are sent to a generic Adobe landing page with no information.

Hello,
I hope you're doing well, and we apologize for the delayed response and the trouble.
FIPS is a cryptographic security standard used by the federal government and organizations that require high-security measures.
Is your computer IT-managed? If you're encountering this error with a specific PDF, it means the file has stricter security settings. You may need to check with your IT team to ensure Acrobat or free Acrobat Reader has the necessary permissions. Additionally, you can ask the original sender to provide a copy without FIPS mode enabled.
