Why does Adobe break my documents, which are in 1 text box, into multiple text boxes?

E.G 1 word which was in 1 text box is now into 5 individual boxes

Are you referring to the way the Edit Text tool in Acrobat breaks up static text into "boxes"? If so, there's nothing you can do about that, as those boxes don't actually exist in the PDF file's structure. It's an approximation the application does to make it easier for you to be able to edit them. It's lucky it allows that at all, as PDF files were never meant to be edited like that, actually...

then why does it have an EDIT option and text, etc. they've updated and upgraded Adobe, that it should NOT be breaking a paragraph with 10 sentences, into 1000 text boxes, with about 5 text boxes per sentence and then the outline overlapse the before and after text boxes and makes it a total chaotic nightmare.

Can you share further details?

  • exact version of the software and operating system you are using?
  • software and steps used to create the pdf file

I never really understood the process used to create the boxes you mention, I know it is not random. Some software like InDesign seem to yeld a more stable result.
