So, i tried dragging and dropping an image from google images in browser to adobe acrobat, and it doesn't perform any action. It just shows a small rectangular box, and ignores it after I drop it. When I tried to do the same from my Windows OS, where I dragged an image from the Desktop and dropped it to Adobe Acrobat Viewer, it worked.

So any reason to why images dragged from adobe arobat don't work.

There's a big difference between dragging an image that's a part of a web-page (as it needs to be downloaded via a URL) and dragging an image that's already located on the computer (as it's just a file that can be opened directly). Acrobat can apparently handle the latter, not the former, so save the image first in the browser to your computer, and then drag it from there.
