Drawing tools missing when commenting on a cloud-shared PDF in Acrobat Pro desktop app

Hey,
I have a very similar problem as this user (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/draw-tools-missing-in-cloud-based-adobe-pdf-for-m...) but when using the Acrobat Pro desktop app (hence the new thread -- feel free to merge if appropriate).
All the drawing tools are available when commenting on a locally saved PDF, but for PDFs that I shared using the built in Adobe cloud, only the freehand drawing tool is available. Obviously, the browser extensions (that were the solution in the thread linked above) don't do anything for the desktop app. Is there another fix?
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro Continuous Release Version 2024.003.20112 (64-bit).
Thanks in advance!

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble, and the delayed response.
I checked the workflow you were referring to, and was able to use all the commenting tools on my end.
I am on the latest version (2024.005.20xxx).
Would you mind updating the app to the latest version and let us know if the issue persists?
If yes, please share a screen recording of the issue for a better understanding and assistance.

Hi Souvik,
thanks for your reply!
I just checked again and the problem persists. I am on version 2024.005.20399 (64-bit) and when I open the comment tools on a PDF that I share with a colleague through Adobe cloud, this is what the palette of available tools looks like:
Compared to the palette on a non-shared PDF:
Do these screenshots help to understand my problem?
My job requires the larger range of functions for all PDFs, no matter their storage location -- well to be honest: it is required especially for shared files since the job is about collaborating on PDFs via various types of comments.
Do you have any idea how I can enable the missing comment features in files shared via Adobe cloud?
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the details and the screenshot.
This is how the tool palette should look like. The dotted square with the letter "A" is to insert text within a PDF, which falls under the Edit PDF category and not commenting. Also, the pen icon below it is the fill and sign tool, which again is not a part of the commenting tools.
In case you need to use all the tools for commenting, long press on the icons available, and you should see a list, allowing you to select from the available options.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply and the explanation about the editing tools. I just realized that I was under the wrong assumption that I had chosen the commenting tools in Acrobat, not noticing that this selection doesn't seem to be available anymore and it always shows me a selection of "all tools" -- or at least behaves differently from older versions I know.
What's still unclear for me is an answer to my initial question: How do I get the full range of drawing tools in my commenting palette. In the above screenshots, you can see that the first one (reduced range, cloud-shared file) is missing the tiny arrow (to indicate a possible long press for options) on the drawing tool, while it is available on the second one (for a locally stored file). I would expect to find options to draw a polygon, straight line etc.
I noticed that, for the larger palette that appears in a locally stored file, I can click on those three dots at the bottom and choose all the tools I want to appear in the palette. The ones I'm asking about are in the category of commenting tools. For the cloud-shared files, I have no such option to select any further tools.
To summarize: How do I get the full range of the available drawing tools (polygon, rectangle, connected line etc.) for commenting on a cloud-shared PDF file?
Best regards and thanks in advance!
