Edit original, non-cropped image from pdf in Photoshop

Hey all... Still having this problem, so posting again and hoping someone has an answer.

I used to use Acrobat Pro XI on my Mac and when I wanted to edit an image from a pdf in Photoshop, it would open the original image, not the cropped version that was in shown the pdf.

I had to upgrade to Acrobat Pro 2020 and now when I open an image in Photoshop from a pdf to edit, it only opens the cropped version as seen in the pdf.

Is there a way in Acrobat Pro 2020 to force the image to open in its original non-cropped size like it used to?

As mentioned, you were using Acrobat XI and are now using Acrobat 2020. Could you please share the steps you used to open the image from the PDF on both versions? It would be really helpful if you could share the screen recording for a better understanding of the workflow here.

I used this very simple process in both Acrobat Pro versions. In the Edit PDF mode I select the image, then right-click and choose to edit in Adobe Photoshop 2025 (see Fig_A.png). In my current version of Acrobat Pro 2020, when the image opens in Photoshop it is the size that it is in Acrobat, whereas in Acrobat Pro XI when I opened the image in Photoshop it opened in it's original size. See Fig_B.png. The image on the left was opened from Acrobat Pro 2020 and the image on the right is how it used to open from Acrobat XI—the original, non-cropped image.

I'd like to be able to open the image at actual size again and am struggling to find a way.
