Editable PDF - Tab is bringing up comment window

Community Beginner ,

I use editable PDF templates for our reports, we use the same report, and then save as everytime, then when we start a new report its the same original blank template, save as, etc.

Recently everytime i tab through the fillable text fields, instead of going to the next field, it brings up a comment window.  I've tried looking through the settings and searching this problem, but haven't had any luck

Hi Karl,

I did some more searching and it looks like this is a known bug they are working to fix.  Here is the solution that has so far worked for me!

Is it possible that there is a script associated with these fields, and the script is creating an annotation?

Hi Karl,

I only use one script, it is for flattening the PDF once we are done, and i've had it for about 2 years with no issue.

It is every text box in multiple PDFs that does this.  I'm unsure of what is causing it, I thought it was possibly something wrong with just my computer, but it has started doing this on additional computers as well now.

Is this happening on other computers as well? If it is isolated to one system, I would re-install Acrobat - potentially after using the Adobe Cleaner https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

If it is happening on other computers as well. I would try to export all pages into a new PDF document and see if that still is causing the issue. Don't just do a "File>Save As", select all the pages, right-click and select to extract the pages, then save the resulting document.

Thanks for the link. I was not aware of that bug (I am using Acrobat on a Mac, and this might be Windows specific, and I am not using the new user interface). Glad that you found this.
