My question is having to do with editing (anything) in Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I am working with PDF documents are signed, and are a completed PDF file, some pdf’s are older and some are newer.

  • I AM Desperately looking for HELP, SOLUTIONS SOMETHING!! (Having over 3000 pdf's to correct, not going to make deadline)

A completed PDF consist of first page was a form filled PDF, along with other word documents that have been converted to PDF, these are completed filled out and saved as pdf final.

  • (History of document: This document has been combined and saved by another individual, and the final PDF is signed (electronically), which is the completed final pdf for record purposes.)
  • When the new users has the documents, doesn’t matter where the document comes from or where it is located (ie) email attachments (document from emails, are saved to personal drive for editing), on network drives or personal files, same problems always occur.

  1.  The new user open pdf then selects edit… here is where it all begins. All PDFs have already been previously edited, saved and distributed prior to new user trying to work with the PDF. Sometimes these PDF have been edited by other users,  the pdfs may or may not be older pdfs.  The new user trying to edit, however, some of the text seems to be loading up as an image and some loading as editable text with the document.
  • Each job, consist of editing one pdf doc. to ensure all Text, size, style, color etc.. ,  this is trying to get consistency though out each completed document, (some caes it might be as little as one or 2 pages of the document), BUT it is TAKING FOREVER, doing these types of edits can take up to 30 mins or more... per PDF, depending on the context, length, or items to be updated within each document, according to policy within my agency. I have tried so many work arounds, sometimes I might get halfway through with the document only to realize this is not working and having to start all over with a BLANK FORM and complete all blocks of the form information, then get the other party to sign,  and return for finalizing. Then the user signs and saved document for processing.

NOTE: I tried out  the Learning and Support Help Tools section. I watched (Edit Text and Images in PDF Files),  for "tutorial articles and videos."  This tutorial gives you samples to work along with the trainer.  Which is a GREAT TOOL, however while watching and learning along with the trainer, doing step by step... and you realize that the program for your Adobe is not showing any of the options, as the trainer has stated within the video, this was a dead end with no one to ask any questions.

I wanted to upload a document put it would take so many snips to try to explain the issue. Hoping this makes sense to someone. As I NEED Assistance from someone out there that can point me in the right direction.

This software is managed by Adobe for Enterprise.

Hi @KatV6_HR_CCU,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

When you mention having forms that are filled and signed, they would be flattened in order for you to work with them, else they are read-only by nature.

In such cases, it is fairly natural for the text to show up as image. You can go to the Edit Tab-> Text Recognition-> Run OCR across the document and the text should be editable.

You can refer to this help article to know more on different kinds of editing available with Acrobat: How to edit a PDF using Acrobat

.

Hope this helps.

You can't edit signed files, unless you clear the signature first. That would beat the entire point of digitally signing a file, which needs to ensure that it hasn't been edited since signed (with the possible exception of filling in form fields, if the signer allowed it, and/or signing it again by someone else).
