Editing name displayed in comments on Acrobat DC - a cautionary tale

A similar post has already been made on this subject but it did not answer my question, which may well be a lament. Is it true that the commenter's name on *previously created* comments cannot be changed except by editing the properties of each individual comment?  I have 142 comments whose properties I have to edit because there appears to be no way to "find/change all" for this feature. Changing this in Preferences made no difference because the comments have already been made. Argh!
