Question

Editing original and save as original

Hi, I'm new to Adobe Acrobat Pro that I have an original document that I have all rights to. When I make a change and click save, it doesn't save the changes.  It makes it like a copy so when I reopen the original ot doesn't save changes.  The files it makes have my edits but the text boxes are all different and hard to edit. How do I edit my origins and save edits as original so formatting stays the same.  It just won't save the edits unless I save as.  But then it's hard to edit and this file will be edited often and for years to come.  Thank you.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Acrobat forum.

Acrobat's editing is a desperate last resort for fixing typos. It is not a way to prepare a document, especially for repeated editing. Suggest you use Word, InDesign or your favourite app. Keep that editable file, because you can export a PDF in seconds. Really, give up on making and editing a PDF, it will give you nothing but pain.

Hi.  It's the file format that was made before me. Will I be able to export to pdf and then be able to edit it like original doc? It's from our printer so I have to keep the pdf file.  Not my choice. Just trying to make due with what they made for us. There to much to redo it. It's pages long. But if I can export to word or whatever and then save as a pdf that I can edit, that would be perfect. Thank you
