EMF issues with conversion of .docx to .pdf

Hello,

I am in the publishing business and I am curious if ther is resolution to the issue of EMF documents embedded in word files not being converted consistently with Adobe PDF Maker add in.

 

I know ther are work arounds, but we revieve documnents form clients with .emf files embedded in word documents.  We would like to maintain the links created in word and also have these figures appear consistently.  Has ther been a solution to this issue?

      Perhaps you can advise us of the following:

       

      • What version of Word are are using?

      • What platform (Windows / MacOS) are you running on?

      • What version of Acrobat are you running?

      • Exactly what symptoms are you seeing? Scaling issues? Text issues? Color? Missing content?

      With that information we might be able to assist you. A sample Word document for us to try out would also be helpful! 😉

      Mr. Isaacs, thank you for the speedy reply!  The contents of the figures are confidential so unfortunately I will not be able to provide them for you.

      I am using the following:

      Windows 10

      Word: Office 365

      Adobe Acrobat Standard DC 2015 release (Classic) | Version 2015.006.30504

      I have checked the image file type to be EMF by converting the .docx to a .zip and examining the media file contents

       

      The images fall into two catagories, the first is one where a plot appears to have faded and/or discontinuous lines.  The second category is where the box around the figure appears, but the content is missing.  We did not generate these documents, so I do not have acces to the raw figures.

      Yes, you've done all the necessary “homework” on this.

       

      However, for us to follow up on this, we would need to have a sample demonstrating the issue. If and when you have such a sample that we can examine (and Adobe does maintain the confidentiality of any samples provided to us for debugging), please advise and we will follow up and try to see where the problem lies.
